Mr. Steve Detwiler currently serves as the Whole Community Recovery Planner with the Miami-Dade County, FL Office of Emergency Management. In this role, he has developed the County’s recovery program to include the respective short, intermediate, and long-term plans and the creation of the County’s first Recovery Operations Center. He has supervised numerous recovery operations including Hurricane Irma and the Surfside Building Collapse. Mr. Detwiler also serves as the Infrastructure Branch Director and is responsible for supervising 20 County departments and partners during an Emergency Operations Center activation. He also serves as the County’s Private Sector Coordinator.
