Yoni Bock serves as the humanitarian assistance advisor for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). At his current position, he provides expert advice and humanitarian guidance, he deploys as a member of OFDA’s Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART), a 22-person response team responsible for coordinating the provision of emergency relief supplies, shelter, water and sanitation. In 2015, he supervised operations of a 30-person field team in response to the Ebola crisis in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. Mr. Bock has also developed OFDA’s Civil-Military Coordination course to help humanitarian workers better understand the Department of Defense’s role and systems for providing disaster relief.
