Adjunct Professor / Monroe County Emergency Management
Martin Senterfitt is currently the Emergency Management Director for Monroe County. In his current position, Senterfitt was responsible for emergency management operations during Hurricane Irma, which had major impacts on the Florida Keys. His experience with that disaster led to him testifying in congress in respect to FEMA’s effectiveness during the recovery phase. Prior to serving as Emergency Management Director for Monroe County, Senterfitt served for 28 years for the City of Jacksonville starting as a firefighter, and eventually working his way up as Director of Duval County Emergency Preparedness and Director/Fire Chief of Jasonville Fire and Rescue.
