Lucas Biehler received his graduate degree in 2018 from FIUs Master in Disaster Management program, under the Robert Stempel College of Public Health. He enrolled in the master’s program immediately after achieving his undergraduate degree in Sustainability and the Environment at FIU in 2017. Lucas has lived in South Florida for the past 27 years, where he plans on furthering his professional career. Community planning and resilience are important concepts to Lucas, who has felt drawn to public service from a young age. Lucas was a former manager of FIUs on-campus organic garden, he is a member of the Sierra Club as well as The Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks, and has worked as a coordinator for various community engagement organizations in South Florida. Currently, Lucas serves as a planner for FIUs Department of Emergency Management, under the Division of Operations and Safety.
